In January, you will be warmed from the inside out by the Brahms Horn Trio, with special guest artists Joy Branagan (french horn), and Ian Parker, (piano). Ian will perform a Beethoven Sonata he has recently recorded and after which Zoltan Rozsnyai and I will join Ian for Mendelssohn’s beloved Piano Trio in D minor.

If you attended this last season’s Piano Trio concert with Anastasia Markina, (piano) and Eugene Osadchy (cello), you will know why we had to invite these wonderful musicians back. In this fourth concert you will be treated to music by Shostakovich, Dvorak, and more Beethoven !

Finally, we celebrate twenty five years with a program to end all programs. Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen is a challenging work, deep and brooding. He wrote it very late in life. In contrast, the Mendelssohn Octet is light-hearted and playful; it was written when he was only sixteen. To perform these works and the lush Brahms Sextet No. 2, we have nine accomplished musicians, some well known to Vetta audiences, and some fresh young talent to take us into the next decades of music-making....

Yours in Music,

Joan Blackman
